VITALITY TOWERS
VERTICAL CITY DESIGN FOR MIAMI YEAR 2100
THE PROJECT FOCUS’S ON CREATING A COMFORTABLE, SPACIOUS, AND ADAPTIVE COMMUNITY THAT CAN NOT ONLY SUPPLY ITS OWN NEEDS, BUT PRODUCE EXCESS TO DISTRIBUTE TO THE SURROUNDING INFRASTRUCTURE. AT THE CORE OF EACH BUILDING IN THE COMPLEX, THE CONCEPT OF URBAN VERTICAL FARMING IS IMPLEMENTED, AS WELL AS THE INCLUSION OF VARIOUS LEVELS OF NON-VERTICAL FARMING. EACH OF THE THREE TOWERS ACCOMODATES 300 RESIDENTIAL UNITS, AIMING TO HOUSE AROUND 1500 PEOPLE IN THE ENTIRE COMPLEX. EACH TOWER HAS IT’S OWN UNIQUE PROGRAM LOCATED AT THE CENTER PORTION THAT IS CONNECTED VIA SKY BRIDGES. THESE THREE INDIVIDUAL PROGRAMS ARE ORGANIZED AS SUCH, EDUCATION AND WORK, FOOD PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION, HEALTH AND WELLNESS. THE SKY BRIDGES ALLOW FOR CONNECTIVITY AND CREATE A SKY PARK. THE BASE OF THE COMPLEX IS A SUBMERGED PARKING GARAGE THAT CAN BE REPURPOSED ENTIRELY IF A NEW FORM OF TRANSPORT CATCHES ON. BOAT DOCKS ARE PROVIDED AND CAN BE EXPANDED UPON IF WATERCRAFT BECOME DOMINANT FORM OF TRANSPORT. THE COMPLEX ESTABLISHES EXCESS SPACE FOR FURTHER ADAPTABILITY, AND TO ALEVIATE CONGESTION.
